PEDREGAL TUNNEL

Construction of a new tunnel with a total length of around 5,4km, between Ameixieira and Pedregal. Additional tunnel section between the main tunnel and Ribeira da Varanda with approximately 200m. The tunnel will two functions – water routing and water supply with a capacity of around 40.000m3.
North-East end of the tunnel with sand retainer, water pass and bridge.
South end of the tunnel with valve chamber, energy dissipation basin and connection to Covão tunnel.
West end of tunnel – connection between the main tunnel (Pedregal) and the secondary tunnel (Connection to R. da Varanda), tunnel connection cave with cofferdam, lateral discharger, valve chamber and flow split box.
